Selphyl "Vampire Lift"

The use of Platelet Rich Plasma in the Selphyl system is a unique, natural treatment that utilizes your own blood products to add volume to your face and youthful thickness to your skin.  This treatment is known by many names such as PRP, platelet-rich plasma.

What is is my blood used for?

A small volume of the patient’s blood is collected and the platelets and fibrin are concentrated during a simple process of spinning the blood to a concentrated state.  The resulting product (know as  Platelet Rich Plasma) contains platelets, growth factors, and fibrin which can be be used to treat areas of the face or body in a variety of applications.  Studies have shown these platelets to be viable and intact.  Platelets will release proteins, which have been reported to trigger cell migration, proliferation and differentiation over time.
With more than 45,000 procedures performed world-wide, physicians are using the Selphyl® System for a number of applications including: plastic surgery, orthopedics, maxillofacial surgery, and soft tissue regeneration.  Sephyl, as a treatment, enhances the use of the platelet rich plasma by mixing it with a small amount of a calcium-based mineral matrix.

There is essentially no down time.  The procedure is performed in the office with minimal discomfort.  Since it is your own tissue there is essentially now risk of negative reaction or infection.  There is a small chance of bruising similar to what you could expect for injection with any other filler or volume treatment.

Platelet rich plasma as a treatment for wrinkles, lines, and soft tissue volume has advantages over most fillers in that it can be injected anywhere at any dept in the skin without the risk of lumps and irregularities.
