As we age, our skin is less plump and vibrant because the dermis loses it’s thickness due to changes in fibroblasts. Fibroblasts are responsible for the production of collagen and elastin and therefore, our once youthful skin becomes lax and saggy. So, what are our options and how do we fight Mother Nature and gravity? With recent advances in technology, there are many different skin rejuvenation alternatives available consisting of but are not limited to YAG Laser, full-face CO2 Laser, dermal fillers, PDO threads, Ulthera, chemical peels and micro-needling . Risks and potential complications are associated with these alternative forms of treatment. Every procedure involves a certain amount of risk, and it is important that you understand the risks involved. An individual’s choice to undergo a procedure is based on the comparison of the risk to the potential benefit and downtime.
Introducing ProCell MicroChanneling… micro-needling evolved
A form of collagen induction therapy consisting of creating invisible micro-channels into the dermis to stimulate collagen and elastin through the release of beneficial peptides, cytokines, and growth factors. Collagen production increases the thickness of the skin while improving the appearance of wrinkles, fine lines, uneven skin tone and can also help reduce and minimize acne scarring and stretch marks. There are many different types of micro-needling technology. At our office, we use ProCell Micro-channeling along with Livra Stem Cell Therapy and/or PRP (platelet rich plasma). The ProCell Micro-channeling technology is more effective in skin rejuvenation by creating vertical channels straight into the skin, penetrating deeper while not dragging and pulling against the skin like other micro-needling devices. This in turn causes less trauma to the face and drastically reduces downtime. That is why we believe that Procell MicroChanneling is superior and more advance than any other microneedling device today. It is a great alternative for skin rejuvenation for all ages and for all skin types.
While IPL, chemical peels, and laser treatments produce improvement of the skin by injuring the skin and causing a healing response, ProCell Micro-channeling is special in that it stimulates growth factors to heal the skin with minor damage and minimal inflammation. Micro-channeling is also helpful in improving hyper-pigmentation, while laser treatments and chemical peels can cause hyper-pigmentation in darker skinned patients. The number of needling sessions depends on the individual’s skin condition. Three or four treatments may be recommended for mild to moderate acne scarring, whereas deeper scars and stretch marks may require upward of five treatments. An interval of 4 to 6 weeks between treatments is typically recommended. The more treatments completed the more optimal and significant results you will get. Individual results may vary.
After micro-channeling, product absorption deep into the skin is highly maximized which helps aid in boosting your own body’s collagen and elastin production. What applied topically to your skin after micro-channeling is imperative. At our office, we offer both PRP (platelet rich plasma) and Livra Stem Cell Therapy to be applied topically right after micro-channeling session. PRP is platelet rich plasma which is spun from your very own blood. PRP contain hundreds of growth factors which are very important in the healing of injuries. PRP stimulates skin’s stem cells to produce more collagen, grow new cells and literally rejuvenate their skin. The new cell growth in your skin generated by the PRP takes weeks to months, which is why it looks so much better after more time passes.
The 2nd option available is Livra Stem Cell Therapy Serum, human stem cell derived growth serum formulated to safely penetrate the skin to enhance the production of collagen and elastin production. The stem cell is harvested from the bone marrow of very young healthy athletes, and made into a growth serum that contain very potent peptides and growth factors to improve cellular communication during the skin rejuvenation cascade that occurs days and into the weeks after treatment. Choosing between these topical treatments is a matter of preference and how healthy the individual is. Either way they both are important in providing a jump-start in healing and collagen production.
At Chase Lay MD & Associates, we strongly believe prevention is key and that with collagen stimulation we can help reduce or even prevent fine lines and wrinkles. That is why we stand firmly behind Procell MicroChanneling because of the beneficial effects it has against our tired, aging skin. Just like anything the more maintenance put in – the better results. If we can nourish the body with organic food and pump iron in the gym then skin rejuvenation should be just as imperative to maintain the youthful and vibrant glow.
