HydraFacial

At Chase Lay, MD in San Jose, HydraFacial is a medical spa treatment that we are proud to offer our patients. Now more than ever, healthy skin is a must. As our world has evolved, sitting us in front of computers for video conferences where our faces are broadcasted in meetings, we all want to be looking our best. It’s perfectly natural and healthy to want to have flawless skin. Our HydraFacial uses a proven technique to add a beautiful glow and help rid your face of toxins, brown spots, and shrink pores.

Our San Jose HydraFacial patients find that the treatment greatly benefits their lives, providing more self-confidence in their complexion. Below, we’ve included more information and frequently asked questions.

What is HydraFacial?

HyrdaFacial is a three-step regimen consisting of cleansing, exfoliating, and infusing your skin with intensive serums by utilizing medical-grade hydradermabrasion. Hydradermabrasion is different from normal dermabrasion in that it does not blast your skin with grit but instead vacuums out your pores while simultaneously injecting potent actives that will moisturize, plump, brighten, and protect your skin.

Who are the Best Candidates for a HydraFacial?

The HydraFacial treatment can be performed on most types of skin, including those with very sensitive complexions. It is also great for teenagers who suffer from acne and adults afflicted with pimples, wrinkles, and hyper-pigmentation. HydraFacial is even great for older patients who have sun damage and pre-cancerous spots.

Unfortunately, we do not recommend the HydraFacial treatment for those with active rashes, sunburns, or rosacea as the procedure may lead to further damage or flare-ups.

What are the Benefits of HydraFacial?

At Dr. Chase Lay’s office, we have noticed multiple benefits for those who take advantage of the HydraFacial treatment in San Jose. Here are some examples of those benefits:

  • It gives you a hydrated, bright, plump, and clear complexion
  • It reduces signs of aging like fine lines and wrinkles
  • Increases firmness
  • Evens out the tones, texture, and brown spots
  • Reduces enlarged pores

What’s the HydraFacial Process?

Our team uses a three-step process when administering a HydraFacial:

Step 1: The Cleanse and Peel – During this step, a gentle exfoliation is used to uncover the new layer of skin by removing all the dead skin cells. A mixture of salicylic acid and glycolic acid gives you the benefits of a peel without the side effects of post-peel scaling, which can be annoying!

Step 2: Extraction and Hydration – Next, the HydraFacial removes debris from your pores with a painless suction that introduces a serum that moisturizes, nourishes, and protects with antioxidants, peptides, and hyaluronic acid.

Step 3: Fusing and Protection – The final step in the process saturates the skin’s surface with antioxidants and peptides to maximize your skin’s glow. The targeted proprietary skin solutions are then delivered to address your specific skin concerns.

Hydrafacial Recovery

During the recovery phase, you should expect to experience some mild redness immediately following your treatment that will quickly subside. We suggest letting your skin rest and just enjoy the benefits and relaxation that come from receiving a facial for the remainder of the day.

You should be able to wear make-up the next day, but there is a minimal chance that if you have naturally reactive skin, you could experience some irritation while wearing it.

How Much Does HydraFacial Cost in San Jose?

HydraFacial FAQs

Does getting HydraFacial Hurt?

A HydraFacial does not hurt. Thanks to it being a non-invasive treatment and requiring no puncturing of the skin, there shouldn’t be any pain or discomfort. Some patients feel a slight “roughness” on their skin that some might compare to getting your face licked by a pet, but that is the most discomfort you should feel during the procedure.

How long will HydraFacial Last?

Due to the effects of aging and sun damage, getting more youthful-looking skin is not something that can be achieved over one session. Even though you WILL begin to notice visible skin refinement as well as an even and radiant skin tone in one session, the smooth results and hydration usually last between five and seven days, although some patients will see it last a little longer. We do recommend receiving treatment once a month to continue improving your skin.

How Often Should I Get It Done?

To get the best results with an improved appearance of brown spots, wrinkles, fine lines, oily, and congested skin, we recommend getting one treatment a month.
